When you think of Tuscany, probably the first things that come to mind are rolling hills, medieval villages, and of course, incredible food. But there’s something at the heart of all of that, something that’s been part of this landscape, this culture, this lifestyle for centuries… Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
And when we say traditional, we mean it. At Tenuta Le Mandorlaie, our olive oil is more than just a kitchen ingredient. It’s our passion, our heritage, and the result of hard work under the Tuscan sun. It’s also 100% organic, IGP certified, and full of character—just like the land it comes from: Maremma.
A land of tradition, Welcome to Maremma
Maremma isn’t the Tuscany you see in every travel brochure. It’s wild, rugged, and still deeply connected to its rural roots. Here, nature is king. It’s where forests meet the sea, and olive groves have stood for generations, quietly witnessing time go by.
We chose to grow our olives here because the land is alive—it breathes history. From the Etruscans to the Romans, people have farmed these hills for thousands of years. This connection to the past is something we hold close in our work. We don’t just produce olive oil, we continue a legacy.
Organic matters, for the earth, and for the oil
It’s easy to throw around words like “natural” or “sustainable” these days. But when we say our Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil is organic, we mean it’s certified, traceable, and truly grown without chemicals.
We farm in harmony with the seasons, without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Instead, we let the ecosystem do its job. Bees, birds, wild herbs—all of them play a role in keeping our olive groves balanced and healthy.
Yes, it’s harder. Yes, it costs more. But it’s worth it. Because when you open a bottle of our organic EVOO, you’re tasting olives as they were meant to be—pure, powerful, alive.
What makes it ‘Traditional Tuscan’?
Well, it’s not just the location, though that matters a lot. Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil has some clear characteristics, bold flavor, vibrant green color, a peppery finish and a rich aroma that speaks of the countryside.
Our olives, Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino and Moraiolo are harvested by hand in late autumn. We pick them early, while they’re still slightly green and as they start changing, giving us a mixed selection, to preserve the highest levels of antioxidants and incredible flavors.
Then, within hours of harvest, we cold press them using modern stone mill methods. Speed matters here. Waiting even a day can degrade quality. That’s why we press fast, bottle quickly, and store with care.
The IGP and Organic Certification
We’re proud to say our olive oil is both IGP certified (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) and certified organic.
IGP is more than just a badge. It tells you this oil was really made here, in Tuscany, following strict standards. It protects the name and reputation of Tuscan olive oil, and ensures transparency for consumers.
The organic certification means our entire process—from tree to bottle—is monitored to guarantee no synthetic chemicals were used. The soil, the water, the leaves, even the cleaning products we use, all of it has to meet organic standards.
These two certifications together mean you’re getting the real deal: Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil made with love and without shortcuts.
The taste of tradition, bottled
So how does it taste? That’s the best part.
Our EVOO has a clean, grassy aroma with notes of artichoke and green almond. On the palate, it’s fruity and slightly bitter—then comes the signature peppery bite in the throat that makes your mouth water.
This flavor isn’t just a happy accident. It’s a sign of high polyphenol content, which means antioxidants. It’s what gives traditional Tuscan olive oil its health benefits: anti-inflammatory, heart-healthy, immune-supporting.
Drizzle it on bruschetta, dress a salad, pour over grilled vegetables or meat—or honestly, just dip some crusty bread in and enjoy it straight. That’s how we like it.
We’re not a factory. We’re not a multinational brand. We’re a small family-run farm, and we plan to keep it that way.
Why? Because smaller means better. We know every tree. We touch every olive. We taste every batch. This isn’t just a product, it’s our name, our land, our story.
By staying small, we control quality. Every bottle of our Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil has our fingerprint on it. And when you buy from us, you’re supporting real farmers, not some faceless corporation. From our grove to your table
We ship directly to customers all over the world. No middlemen. No warehouses. When you order our olive oil, it comes straight from our estate in Maremma.
And freshness? It’s everything. We package in dark glass bottles or bag in box formats to protect against light and oxygen. Our 3-litre and 5-litre bag-in-box packaging is perfect for those who really use olive oil in daily cooking—it keeps the oil fresh longer, without air exposure.
Plus, we include harvest and bottling dates on every label. That way, you know exactly what you’re getting, and when it was made.
Why we care so much
It’s easy to buy cheap olive oil at the supermarket. But honestly, most of those oils? They’re blends from different countries. They’re old. They’re sometimes even cut with lower-quality oils. They lack the taste and the soul of real Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
We want people to remember what olive oil should taste like. Strong, green, slightly bitter, and totally unforgettable.
This isn’t just about food. It’s about connection. To the land. To the people who grow your food. To something older than all of us.
When you pour our olive oil, you’re part of that story.
Maremma, Where the wild heart of Tuscany beats
There’s a reason we fell in love with Maremma. It’s not just beautiful—it’s real. Quiet olive groves, long dusty roads, golden light in the evening, the smell of wild fennel in the air… this place leaves a mark on your soul.
Our farm, Tenuta Le Mandorlaie, is set right in the middle of it. Surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and forest. It’s peaceful. It’s slow. It’s the perfect place to make something honest and beautiful.
When guests visit us, they always say the same thing: “I’ve never tasted olive oil like this before.” That’s how we know we’re doing it right.
So, why choose our olive oil?
If you care about quality, about where your food comes from, and about supporting sustainable farming, then we think our oil is right for you.
It’s not mass-produced. It’s not anonymous. It’s Traditional Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil, made by people who care deeply about every step of the process.
And when you taste it, you’ll get it. You’ll taste the trees, the sun, the sea breeze from the coast, and the centuries of tradition that go into every single drop.
